Ich würde mich selbst beschreiben als I'm content with life and pleased with the way I’ve lived mine; East Coast attitude and sensibility enriched by 48 years in the Bay Area-and a place in Atlanta GA. During the week, I’m busy w/friends and various activities, meetups and social gatherings; I own a small print editing business; I am the occasional writer. I take dance classes and enjoy live music and club dancing; I work out to maintain fitness and good health. I’m very social and love being out alone or with friends; I am an avid reader of non-fiction, current affairs, politics, psychology, science, as well as Dean Koontz at the gym. I am very progressive, both politically and socially, reflective and psychologically oriented. I prefer complicated thoughts and conversations, and clever people. I believe I’m open-minded, but not so much that my brain falls out. As for relationships, I'm open to all that enhance my life and broaden my perspective. I appreciate people who are smart, kind, and tolerant; I enjoy those who are curious and brave. I don't expect anyone to be all things to me, and no one has to read my mind.

I'd like to meet a man who is kind, smart and thinks I walk on water; someone who has a good sense of who he is and how he got here; understands his part in past liaisons and breakups; has peaceful relationships with his children/exes. Politically progressive and a democrat, I expect tolerance, integrity-more honor than honesty, a forgiving nature, a sense of gratitude about life. It is understood that he pursues healthy habits. I would expect that he has interests of his own, hobbies, friends that keep him busy and make him happy-perhaps even a few we can share. I have no desire to be anyone's cliché-queen, princess or soul mate-just an equal, a partner. I doubt I would be interested in anyone whose main purpose in life is just to have fun or thinks anothers baggage is too much for him to handle. I'm attracted to a man for whom a strong/smart woman is exciting, a pleasure-not a burden or a competition. I hope to meet someone who is confident but not a bully, competent but not arrogant, and understands that none of us succeeds completely on our own.

I think two people who like each other will find things to do together, so I don't have a list-I'm up for most things. Understand, I won't be throwing myself out of a perfectly good airplane or bouncing at the end of a rubber band-this for me is not fun. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm probably a poor choice if you're hoping for someone with whom to go golfing, hunting, camping, fishing, rafting, boating or skiing - I’m not a water person. However, I like most of the usual-some sports (ping pong, bowling, shooting, hiking); working out at the gym (weights, TRX); cooking (mostly eating); checking out the latest restaurants and clubs; dancing (salsa/swing); carnivals/street fairs; theater, comedy clubs, movies; museums, galleries, lectures; live music, concerts (blues, top 40, Latin, R&B); travel (day trips/ international); shopping (of course!); reading, writing, computers; much more. Mostly, I like hanging out with smart, kind, funny people. And junky TV. And hip hop. Yes, you heard me.
